MT-2 (Melanotan II) is a cyclic heptapeptide analogue of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-NH₂, closely related to PT-141 but with a C-terminal amide. Molecular formula C50H69N15O9, molecular weight 1024.2 g/mol, CAS 121062-08-6. Each vial holds 10 mg of lyophilised powder, sealed under nitrogen and stored at −20°C.

Melanocortin research
MT-2, also called melanotan II, is a cyclic lactam-bridged heptapeptide analogue of α-MSH(4–10), designed in 1989. It is a non-selective melanocortin receptor agonist and the parent compound of PT-141. It is not an approved medicine anywhere.
